Quick As Thieves 10 km

Altruistic moment VS a mental and physical challenge


I am more surprised than anyone else that I've consented to running 10km.

Rest assured, I've been considering that the "fun" in "fun run" is short for "fundraiser". I have yet to break through the mental block of believing I can keep moving at the pace of a jog for the whole duration of the 10 km, and I can't say this is precisely my idea of fun! 

But here we are; I'm committed to doing the thing.


Reminding myself that this challenge goes beyond my personal development, I will participate with a team of Strawberry Fields Festival peers in the Quick as Thieves 10km run to help raise money for The Fred Hollows Foundation (TFHF) to improve people's lives by restoring their sight. 

By donating, you will support the work of the TFHF, ensure more training of local eye doctors, nurses, and health workers, and create a sustainable healthcare system in the communities that need our help the most.


Your donations will also help me move forward with my training, as every little bit of encouragement will go a long way.

I'm asking for help! I need to raise some money; if you can contribute, today, Thursday, April 18th, is the day to do it! Today is "double donation" day.

In only a few weeks, I will run 10 km for the Quick As Thieves fundraiser for The Fred Hollows Foundation, which supports the restoration of sight to needlessly blind people worldwide.

In this process, I am redefining my self-beliefs by doing something I have never done before. It's a real challenge. I am not known for jogging for public transport or an ice cream truck. I was the kid who held up the bus at cross-country because I chose to walk.

So, while I keep pushing to get to 10 km, please encourage me by donating (if possible), sending memes, or offering thoughts and prayers.
