Quick as Thieves Marathon

I'm stepping up to help restore sight!

Currently 43 million people around the world are blind but 9 out of 10 don't have to be!

I need your help - a simple procedure costing as little as $25 can help restore sight and change their life and the lives of their families and communities for ever!

On Saturday, 11 May 2024, I will run in the Quick as Thieves event together with Mike Toner, and I am committed to raise enough funds to help restore sight to at least 40 needlessly blind people!

Please support my run - Your donations will ensure more training of local eye doctors, nurses and health workers, creating a sustainable health care system in the communities that need our help the most.

The Fred Hollows Foundation's work has a very clear purpose: to make sure everyone, whether they’re rich or poor, has access to high quality, affordable eye health as we enjoy right here in this country.

Together, you and I can change lives, thank you for your support!

For a Great cause

Friday 3rd May
Join Me in Supporting the Fred Hollows Foundation

As the date for the upcoming marathon draws near, I find myself not only preparing physically but also mentally for the challenge ahead. However, this year's race holds a deeper significance for me beyond personal achievement. I am thrilled to announce that I am dedicating my run to support the Fred Hollows Foundation and their noble cause of restoring sight to those in need.

The Fred Hollows Foundation is a renowned organization committed to eradicating avoidable blindness and improving eye health worldwide. Named after the legendary ophthalmologist Fred Hollows, the foundation continues his legacy by providing essential eye care services, training local medical professionals, and advocating for eye health equality.

The statistics surrounding global blindness are staggering, with millions of people suffering needlessly due to lack of access to basic eye care services. The Fred Hollows Foundation aims to change this by reaching some of the most marginalized communities and offering them the gift of sight.

This year, as I lace up my running shoes and hit the pavement on May 11th, I am not only running for personal achievement but also to raise awareness and funds for this important cause. By participating in this marathon, I am taking a stand against avoidable blindness and joining the fight to make eye health accessible to all.

But I can't do it alone. I'm calling on you, my friends, family, and fellow supporters, to join me in this endeavor. Your support, whether through donations, spreading awareness, or simply cheering me on, will make a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Here's how you can get involved:

Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference. Your donation will directly fund eye surgeries, provide essential eye care services, and empower communities to take charge of their eye health.

Share my post, along with information about the Fred Hollows Foundation, on your social media .  The more people we reach, the greater impact we can make together.

As the countdown to race day begins, I am filled with a sense of purpose and determination. With your support, I am confident that we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by avoidable blindness.

Thank you for standing with me in this important cause. Together, let's run for vision and help bring light to those in darkness.
